Tape and reel packaging consists of metal domes placed in embossed carrier pockets which are then secured using a thin clear cover film for use with traditional surface-mount technology (SMT) or pick-n-place equipment. Most metal domes can be placed into tape and reel; however, only SMD domes can be soldered directly to the circuit board. Snaptron’s S-Series domes come loaded in tape and reel and feature two tabs that can be soldered directly to the circuit.

Note: Embossed carrier tape meets the EIA-481 standard.
