JOB TITLE: Mechanical Engineer

REPORTS TO: Director of Engineering
TYPE OF POSITION: Full-time, 40 hours/week
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The ideal candidate is an experienced, self-motivated, multi-tasker and demonstrated team player. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and improving tooling, automation equipment, and test equipment for internal manufacturing systems and external customer-facing applications. You will also be responsible for helping to define, execute, and document test protocols. You will assist with R&D efforts, new design work, and enhancements to existing designs. You will be expected to have a solid understanding of mechanical systems, mechatronics, controls, and software. Skills in the area of UX and industrial design are desired. You should excel at working in a small multidisciplinary design team for a fast-growing company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing project requirements and planning documents
- Write clean, high-quality test plans and other documentation
- Develop and support mechanical designs of tooling, fixturing, and equipment
- Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure the project meets business objectives and compliance standards
- Support test and deployment of new products and features
- Lead design and test reviews
- Some travel will be required
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
- 5-10 years of relevant work experience in automation or manufacturing is desired
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated experience with mechanical design, FEA, and mechatronics is required
- Skills in industrial design, DFM, controls, and software development are desired
- Experience with Solidworks/EPDM is preferred
- Experience developing machine vision and robotics is desired
- Skills in machine shop operations and rapid prototyping are desired
- Experience with Agile or Scrum development methodologies is preferred
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems is desired
- Must possess the ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
- Must be skilled in customer support interactions
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Hiring salary range TBD, depending on education and experience; medical plan after 1 month; company 401k retirement plan with matching after 1 year; paid holidays.
