Snaptron is proud to support university and educational programs that encourage a hands-on approach to engineering design. The University Outreach Program is designed to educate aspiring engineering students about momentary tactile dome switch technology. This program provides engineering professors, staff, and students with samples of our various snap dome styles for lab and prototyping purposes. In addition to samples, Snaptron offers a design guide document that details engineering principles surround our technologies – everything from printed circuit board (PCB) pad design to dome characteristics to dome plating and contact resistance.
Students and teachers who are interested in tactile domes may also want to visit our friends at the Boldport Club. Members of the Boldport Club receive a unique electronics project once a month. Projects are designed to be engaging, challenging, entertaining, and collectable, and to promote exploration and discovery through the use of electronics. Information about this electronics club can be found on their website, and membership discounts for students can be found at www.boldport.club/students.
